An interesting life

Holden Grange Care Group has been established for over 25 years. Residents of the group are accommodated in a number of historic buildings around Baildon.

Thanks to local historians, and in particular Roger Clarke, we are lucky to know a great deal about the origins of several of the buildings within our group and the lives of their occupants. You can read more about the individual histories of Grange Court and Hillbro on this website.

The present chapter began in 1984, when Ronald and Doreen Berry recognised the potential of Hillbro and other large properties in the area. Their first acquisition was Holden Grange, directly opposite Hillbro on Holden Lane (originally a vicarage). In 1994, they also bought Hillbro and began to plan and build extensions to the original building. Holden Grange was demolished in 2005, and replaced by 17 retirement home apartments.

Grange Court on Station Road was purchased by the Berry family in 1997 and reopened in 1998 after a full refurbishment. The group is  completed by Oak Lodge residential home on Oak Villas in Manningham, Bradford.
