Grange Court Residential Home was established in 1997 and provides 24-hour residential care for 30 ladies and gentlemen for both long and short stays. Our intention is to provide care that allows our residents to lead an enjoyable life with maximum independence and dignity in safe and comfortable surroundings.
We aim to do this by providing the appropriate degree of care and support needed to meet the individual needs of each person. We hope the individual care matched with a happy, homely environment, will encourage a happy, healthy life.
Prior to admission, everyone is assessed by The Manager or their nominated deputy, to ensure we can meet personal, social and nursing needs. Trained nurses will holistically assess all clients on admission and an individual care plan will be formulated with the client and/or their family. This care plan will be based on historical, current and future needs and expectations, and will follow a process of continual review and evaluation.
An annual review in the form of a written report collated from the homes records, staff information, outside agencies e.g. GP, Specialist Nurses and input from the client, their family and/or friends will be arranged and undertaken.
Inside the home, we have a number of communal rooms; we have 3 lounges and 2 dining rooms. These rooms are for relaxing, and for social activities.
We offer single and shared bedrooms, en-suite and non en-suite. These rooms are the personal and private accommodation of the person(s) living in that room. Grange Court has 24 bedrooms in total: 9 Single En-Suite, 9 Single Non En-Suite and 6 Shared. 4 bedrooms are on the ground floor, remaining bedrooms are on the first floor and accessed by a passenger lift.
Residents may, at our discretion, bring their own personal belongings and furnishings to personalise their room. Every room has a nurse call system. Private phone lines are available by arrangement. Outside, we have parking and a garden with seating to the side of the home and a secure open-air courtyard to the rear of the main building.
Residents are offered a menu with a choice of home cooked meals using seasonal fresh produce. We are able to cater for residents with special dietary needs. Drinks and home baked cakes and biscuits are always available. We welcome any suggestions people may have for the menu.
Social and Recreational activities are organised for those wishing to participate, family & friends are welcome to join in. Outings are arranged for those clients wishing to do so. Visits out with family and friends are encouraged and supported.
Our group activities normally include: Visiting representatives from local churches; Bingo; Reminiscing - a trip down memory lane; Videos; Music; Exercising - to music in a chair; Entertainers; TV; Radio; Dominoes; Organist.
Our individual activities normally include: Crafts - Knitting, Crochet, Sewing or Craft; Local Newspapers; being outside in the Garden or Courtyard on a nice day. We usually organise something for those special occasions. For example, we recently celebrated VE Day and held a party in the grounds for residents and their family and friends!
Family and friends may visit whenever the resident wishes. They can visit residents in the lounge or in the privacy of their room. In general we have no set visitors times.
